The Acknowledgment of the Disaster Risk Reduction by the Community and the First Aid
The event of the acknowledgment of disaster risk reduction by the community and the first aid which held in the second Sunday of October (10/10) was attended by the member of paguyuban “Jaga Bebaya” and deputy of civil organization Guwosari Village. The activity which will be done in every Sunday of October is held to commemorate the world disaster month.
Ipah, the member of Paguyuban Jaga Bebaya whom we met that morning described that there were some study of the possible threats in Guwosari Village which held in every Wednesday. “We cannot avoid and detect the disaster, so we have to be ready. Except the earthquake, there are also some threats such as the toppled three, and the sanitation problem.” Said Ipah.
The coordinator of Paguyuban Jaga Bebaya, Heru Subandi said that,” we used to be surrender whenever the earthquake came. We hope we will ready to anticipate the disaster and the knowledge can prepare us from unpreventable disaster. We live in disaster risk region and according to BMG there are some upcoming earthquakes.”
Abdul Basir, S.Ag the head of Guwosari Village hoped, “there are some anticipating steps regarding any kinds of possible disaster. I hope KARINAKAS and the other can build the people awareness based on the region’s character . I hope Pagauyuban Jaga Bebayacan share their knowledge to the other community later.”
In that event, there was also first aid training by Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia). It gave easy and simple tips and trick to do first aid so that people can do the correct aid. The risk scale of a threat which is faced by the community depends on the capacity of the community. So, we have to identify the threat and to strengthen the capacity to reduce the risk.
